Is there grass in Mexico?

A few days before we were to leave on our last trip to Mexico, a co-worker of mine asked me a funny question. This is how the conversation went.

Co-worker: "Fredda, do they have grass in Mexico?"
Me:" Huh?"
Co-worker: "You know, does grass grow in Mexico?"
Me: "Um, yes." (trying not to laugh)
Co-worker: "I'm serious, in all the movies and pictures of Mexico, all I see is desert and sand."
Me: "Yes Mexico has grass, and trees and plants. It's not all desert."
Co-worker: "Will you take a picture of it for me? You know, when you go."
Me: "Sure thing. You want to see the trees too?"
Co-worker: "Yeh, that'd be cool."
Me: "Ok, I'll take one just for you!"

The more I thought about it, the more I had to agree that my co-worker was right. Before I knew Mexico and all of it's beauty, I thought it was all cactus, desert, and donkeys.

This is one of the pictures that I showed her to prove that "Yes, grass grows in Mexico."
